Saxophones

Russ Hansen: As founder of Mile High Mood Swings, Russ has worked diligently in recruiting, marketing/promotion and as general manager of the group.  A native of Golden, Russ currently lives in Fort Collins where he spends much of his time on his sax, piano or guitar.  Currenlty performing in Mile High Mood Swings and combo, Mini Mood Swings, he enjoys good jazz music, a tasty micro brew, and spending time with his wife, Jenn, and daughter, Jolene.

Trumpets

Jesse Mathews.

Jeremy Mooer: When not playing with Mile High Mood Swings, you can catch Jeremy playing trumpet with local Fort Collins band, Futaba.

Eddie Williamson: Eddie got his start in the 8th grade when he bought a bugle out of the Boy Scout catalog for $9.95.  It came with a book on how to play by hitting a note on the piano and then trying to get a note out of the horn.  A couple of months later he was the bugler for his Boy Scout troop.  At the end of 8th grade (1970) he borrowed a cornet from his 8th grade math teacher and signed up for a summer band program.  He was active in both band and choir throughout high school and during his year at SW Oklahoma State Univ.  Then he saw a sign that said "join the Navy and see the world," not realizing that most of the world looks like the inside of a submarine.  After moving to Colorado, he has sung in and directed church choirs in the area.  In 2005, after a 20 year break from the trumpet, he started practicing again.  He now plays trumpet for the Faith Church orchestra and the Masters Brass Quintet.  He also subs with the Loveland Orchestra and now has joined the MHMS big band and is having  a blast!

Shannon Light: Trumpet: Shannon Light's exploration and knowledge of music began at a very young age. She has used music in every venture of her life including her years spent playing the piano, trumpet, and burlesque dancing to the old classics. She is a co-founder of BlueStocking Burly-Q, a local burlesque troupe, and has performed at the 1940’s WWII Ball in Boulder. Shannon is also passionately involved in theater and will be performing in OpenStage Theatre Company's production of “Les Liaisons Dangereuses”, premiering January 2014. It brings her great joy to be a part of the Mile High Mood Swings and she is excited to continue the journey into the past through playing music!
